Snake movements yield engineering insights

Researcher Bruce Jayne at the University of Cincinnati unlocks the mechanics of the rectilinear locomotion of snakes. Jayne's team believes the discovery could lead to advances in snake-like robotics for search and rescue in areas not well-suited for wheeled vehicles.
