Pseudo-LiDAR for self-driving cars

National Science Foundation-funded Cornell researchers have found a simpler, inexpensive alternative to the expensive LiDAR sensors currently used in self-driving cars to detect objects. The team's new method, called pseudo-LiDAR, uses two inexpensive cameras to detect objects with nearly LiDAR accuracy.
