New nanotechnology using biomass could make clean drinking water available worldwide

New nanofilter technology using grass, shrubs and old paper would enable communities to produce their own water filters using biomass nanofibers. It was developed by chemist Ben Hsiao and his team at Stony Brook University, with support from the National Science Foundation.
