Learning trajectories for everyday computing

This video showcases a collaborative effort between the University of Chicago’s Center for Elementary Mathematics and Science Education and the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. The exploratory STEM+C project aims to develop learning trajectories that align computational thinking with K-5 Common Core mathematics (as expressed in Everyday Mathematics 4, the University of Chicago School Mathematics Project’s elementary curriculum). The researchers are currently at the beginning of their project and are focusing on (1) building a database of research articles and instructional materials that describe Computer Science learning goals; and (2) developing and piloting model lessons that will illustrate emerging trajectories.
