Revolutionizing prosthesis prescription

Steve Collins of the Mechanical Engineering Department at Carnegie Mellon University discusses his lab's work in creating robots that are worn on the leg to help people get around. These may be used to help people heal from an injury, to help people with a permanent disability or to assist healthy people who walk for hours at a time. His group works on universal device emulators to enable faster design of the next generation of these devices and to enhance the clinical prescription process.
